Inclusion of migrants
As the number of foreigners coming to Lithuania increases, the Diversity Charter works with employers to ensure that the labour market is more open, inclusive and able to recruit people from different cultures.

Traineeship programmes
In an effort to encourage employers to ensure the diversity of candidates, we have established internship programmes for talented asylum seekers and other migrants in 2023, which we run regularly.
The aim of the traineeships is to help foreigners integrate into the labour market on the basis of their existing competences and skills, and to reduce stereotypes and stigmas in the labour market itself.
From 2023 onwards, the following organisations have provided internships: Vinted, Vilnius City Municipality, Oxylabs, Swedbank, Rimi Lietuva, Yara, the Seimas Ombudsmen’s Office of the Republic of Lithuania, Vilnius District Municipality and the Nordic Council of Ministers’ Office in Lithuania.
Every year, several hundred candidates from Eritrea, Afghanistan, Ukraine, Belarus, India and other countries apply to participate.
Employers offering internships are invited to attend practical sessions on inclusive and multicultural working environments with international speakers.
By 2025, half of the participants have successfully secured a job after their internships.
Our partners include UNHCR, the Reception and Integration Agency, the Lithuanian Red Cross Society, Vilnius Archdiocese Caritas and the Foreigners Integration Centre.
