Moody’s Lithuania Diversity Pathway: LGBTQ+ inclusion
Since the opening of its Vilnius office, Moody’s has been one of the leading change-makers in Lithuania, seizing every opportunity to bring its global values of diversity and inclusion to life. Recognising the great need to address issues of the LGBTQ+ community, especially against the backdrop of a historically conservative nation, the local Moody’s Business Resource Group (BRG), under the name Moody’s Lithuania Inclusion Group, has taken its first steps. Their tireless efforts to educate and raise awareness among Moody’s employees have highlighted LGBTQ+ inclusion as one of the key strategic themes in their volunteering work.
The volunteer team agreed that Pride events are an ideal platform to celebrate the achievements of the LGBTQ+ community, foster education, promote tolerance, and further the cause of equality. So, thanks to them, Moody’s became the main sponsor of the Baltic Pride 2022 march and invited all its employees to join in. “Together with various companies, non-profit organisations and local embassies, we have been marching steadfastly to foster an equal, tolerant and peaceful society for all,” said Karina Arlauskaitė, Senior Communications Strategist at Moody’s and co-chair of the Moody’s Lithuania Inclusion Group. “Baltic Pride 2022 was a beacon of hope and unity, a clear demonstration that by standing together we can defend human rights and, with the help of our employees, shape a more inclusive and tolerant world,” said Arvydas Makselis, AVP-Human Resources Manager and Co-Chair of the local Inclusion Group.
