Lithuanian Diversity Charter’s proposals for the PSC’s guidelines on socially responsible procurement

The Public Procurement Service has developed guidelines on socially responsible procurement, which encourage contracting authorities to consider not only price or quality when selecting suppliers, but also how the goods or services purchased affect society and the social change they create.

The Lithuanian Diversity Charter Association makes targeted observations and suggestions for possible improvements to the Guidelines, such as: conducting a thorough review of the social criteria and removing those aspects that overlap with the existing requirements, refusing to require the submission of data that is available from public authorities, and avoiding wording that would indicate specific measures rather than the result to be obtained.
